Over one hundred workers, activists, students, veterans and families gathered in Northmoor park near campus to voice alternatives to the candidates' discussion of abstract policy issues. Activist groups Instead of War, Code Pink, and Veterans for Peace organized the protest to highlight the narrow scope of the debate, and to expose the carefully mediated lack of public access to discussions of public policy.

17th of November is the day where the student revolt against the dictatorship in Athens, Greece in 1973 is being commemorated. The 3days festivities lead to a march at the streets of every city in Greece but mainly in central Athens where a usually massive march is organized towards the American embassy that is being blamed of co-operating and imposing the junta at the time.

Novartis Knock Down Day is a call for actions against Novartis on Monday, October 27th for being one of Huntingdon Life Sciences’ (HLS’s) largest customers. Without customers of Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) there simply would be no Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS). The customers pay Huntingdon to test products and carry out research. If Huntingdon lost all their customers then they would have no income and be forced to close. There are only ten companies which give Huntingdon Life Sciences 45% of their income; these include Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline, and Bristol-Myers Squibb.

On Monday, September 29th, Twin Cities Animal Defense League will be holding another public event to support the SHAC 7 and the campaign against HLS.

The upcoming RNC protests in St. Paul are an example of when it’s time to throw down and fuck shit up.

World Naked Bike Ride Cycles Into Saint Louis This Summer

The World Naked Bike Ride is an international event protesting oil dependency, promoting positive body image, and raising cyclist awareness. The bike ride’s dress code is “bare as you dare,” so all participants are welcome whether fully clothed, covered in body paint, or completely bare. It has been successful in various other cities such as nearby Chicago, though this is the first summer it will take place in Saint Louis. The Saint Louis event will have some pre-ride body painting at 7 pm.
