St. Louis Linux Users Group: PHP Handling

Topic PHP Best Practices
Location St. Louis County Library, Indian Trails Branch
Speaker Craig Buchek
Outline

PHP is a very popular web development language, especially on GNU/Linux servers. It's commonly the "P" part of the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Perl/Python). PHP makes it pretty easy to write simple web applications. But it's also easy to get yourself into trouble.

In this presentation, we'll go over some areas where you can get yourself into trouble, and what you should do to avoid common problems. We'll cover (among others):

St. Louis Linux Users Group General Meeting

Due to our extended main topic this month, we will not have our usual basic tutorial session. At exactly 6:30 PM we will start with our usual administrative introductions, announcements and go right into our technical Questions and Answers (Q&A) period. Then a short break.

Our main topic will be All About Google by Scott Granneman. Anybody that attended the August general session that Scott gave on a History of Tech Since 1968 can fully appreciate his ability to captivate the imagination and wonder of technology.
